The grave is that of Elisha Mitchell, DDS, the man who died proving that Mount Mitchell is the highest peak east of the Mississippi River. He was engaged in a rivalry over the subject with a gentleman by the name of Clingman...of Clingman's Dome fame.
I am an avid rider of motorcycles and a reasonably capable photographer. Mixing the two interests with a bit of snarky writing results in the posts you'll find on this blog.
